Happy New Year % It’s the Holidays %But πŸ™πŸ½ MASK UP

 This has been a rather long minute and I’m not about to do any special opening or welcome back speech. I know I kinda deserve the cold treatment if you give me one but I will seek restitution somehow today or some other time. Late last year everyone in the world still probably thought the COVID was a bout of flu that the Chinese wanted to sell off as something serious. For a bit we must have thought they’d gotten high on opium or molasses and spun a funny story of a deadly virus that could be contracted from mere touch. You can’t deny you didn’t think this because I certainly did. Look at us now hearing of a second wave of what happened in February to August of this year and shaking in our boots already. Life sure can be a bummer! I realize talking about the virus like this when people are dying everyday almost feels like casually tossing a loaded firecracker into a China shop but in all honesty there’s so much we can do. The holidays are supposed to be something to celebrate and make merry, not to survive and hold our breaths and I am sorry that this is our fate. I hope and pray people who’ve lost their loved ones this year or are sick will heal and find happiness after grief. From our mouths to God’s ears next year will be much better.

     I’ll be preaching to a choir if I said don’t forget to mask up if you ever have to go out. It’s time we gave as much as our heroes are giving and if you’ll ask how, we give back by adhering to rules that safe guard our lives. The world as a whole is in debt  to medical teams all over the world volunteering and sacrificing their time, resources and life to mitigate the effect of the coronavirus strain.

YOU ARE OUR TRUE HEROES WEARING INVISIBLE CAPES.

I decided to stop self indulging in pity and wrote this post in it’s entirety on my phone. Here’s the story- My MacBook fell about a month ago and blanked out on me during a work session 2 weeks ago. I have been holed up in grief since then and have paid for the broken part through my nose. Fingers crossed I’m hopeful we get the part before the new year and the technician does a good job so it actually works. If you ever doubted change is hard try working a Windows OS after almost a year of using a MacOS. Dear God it has been brutal!! I’m not too old for miracles hence this hope in the face of despair because I know nothing else to do or think.

     Normally Christmas holidays were something I always looked forward to but this year just like other years I am bothered about under achieving some goals. You will not understand this if you’re just catching up on the blog but go back some months and read about what this year came with for me. For one it was my first Christmas ever with my dad absent. A few weeks ago he got called up to work and won’t be back until February I guess. The family Christmas culture was broken and if you know me you’ll understand my obsession with things being the same way. Even though I might sound grumpy I promise I am grateful for everything I still have; friends, family, my career, great health and a sound mind; we don’t ever talk enough about how much bliss we enjoy from a stable mental health. This year might not be the year I got everything but the ones I got were real big.

To everyone who thought 2020 will be the year they blow (it’s okay I thought so as well); rejections are a common place. Stop being afraid of what the future might look like. In no time everything will fall in place. It’s time to give all your dreams a chance to breathe again and be reimagined.

To my love birds if you didn’t find love this year (it’s okay we were all fighting a pandemic) I need you to read this Mark Anthony’s quote;

  “One day love will come in the form of someone who wants to give more than take and you’ll know why love is rare “

It’s just that loneliness can be scary but I promise it’ll be worth the wait.

Close with this quote from my favorite book of all time; “He makes everything beautiful in his time”

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year my loves. Remember: wear a mask and stay in your financial lane
