TALK BODY TYPES

Aim – Let you know what to wear/ why specific styles or cuts work for you and what you should never wear...

Its Tuesday already and just like every other weekday, I am not so psyched about it. When you have to work Monday through Friday you understand that the routine can quickly get easily boring and the weekend you look up to is never enough to do anything so there goes nothing on my end at least.

Now here is what I am totally psyched about, my first collaboration on the blog with the amazing fashion blogger Adefila Adejumoke. I have had this coming for a bit of time now and I am swelling excited to work on today’s post with her. So here goes the actual something.

I love clothes, I love to dress up and more than anything I love to look good. Growing up my mum always said that a woman’s choice of clothes should not only aim to cover her up but in some way enhance her beauty as well as flatter her body type or shape. I was a late bloomer so when every other girl in my class in junior and senior secondary started to worry about growing boobs and filling out their uniforms nicely I didn’t think I would have anything to worry about until puberty finally hit and hit it did because in a short time voila I went from a waif-like shape to filling out my clothes so well and I started to get referred to as being curvy and it has stuck over the years. So these days I am more the curvy, hourglass-shaped girl who suffers a bit of pocrescophobia (a fear of gaining weight) and is slightly obsessed with analyzing what to wear to  a T.  I have learned to master the art of dressing and stuck with it and from a personal experience I know what will fit someone that remotely looks like me.
For one I know black or dark colors, tone down the flare of my hips and hide my curves but striped or lighter shades put everything out there. I know better than to wear a blouse or dress with ruffles because it will only make my boobs look larger and stick out like a sore thumb. I would not be caught dead in a tight T-shirt but I love the way short dresses add a pep to my sense of style and the list goes on and on. But what do I know about what will fit any other person that does not have the same body type? At this point, it's only logical to enlist the professional help of Adejumoke Adefila of www.jummydefila.wordpress.com to help every reader get it right with their wardrobes haves and have-not.
